Legacy planning is financial and estate planning, deciding where your assets go at a later time. It is for most adults, no matter their income or age. If you own property or care for minors, then it is of particular importance. God has entrusted His gifts to you. Good stewardship also involves good estate planning, taking care of the needs of loved ones and the organizations you value. Legacy giving allows individuals to give from their assets and not just from their income and, in many cases, allows people to make gifts they never dreamed possible in ways they may have never considered. The result? Donors are provided with another means to express the profound love they have for the school. They have been empowered to sustain a faith-based education even after their lifetime. 

Our legacy planning partner, the Catholic Foundation in the Archdiocese of Dubuque (CFAD), has many resources on legacy giving. You can access them at OurCFAD.org. An endowment is a fund set aside for the long-term benefit of an organization. The initial and additional funds contributed to the endowment are invested, and a portion of the earnings are distributed for charitable purposes. An endowment fund is typically permanent and will generate income for the designated beneficiary forever. It gives your charitable giving eternal life on earth. Donating to the school endowment fund is easy. The fund is managed by CFAD, and gifts can be made online at OurCFAD.org/donate (be sure to choose Marquette Catholic School Fund - Bellevue in the drop-down box). Gifts can also be made directly to CFAD by check or other method, designating the Bellevue Marquette Catholic School Fund. CFAD's address is 120 5th St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405. You can contact the Foundation with questions at 563-552-0176. Please consider donating to the school endowment fund. Gifts to the endowment fund are tax-deductible and support the school in perpetuity. You may also contact the Business Manager at the school if you have any questions. 

HOW CAN YOU contribute time/talent?

• Pray for our school, students, staff, and community
• Community mass (8:25 am) and adoration at St. Joseph Church until 5 pm on the first Friday of each month
• Volunteer in our lunch room
• Volunteer to drive a school van of students to class at Easton Valley
• Drive a school van or bus (must have a valid bus license) for activities or field trips 
• Substitute for office staff or teachers (must have valid authorization - click here for information)
