"I am a proud Marquette Catholic School graduate so the decision to send my own children to a Catholic school was simple. With my own faith being such an important component of my everyday life, I wanted that foundation for my children, along with a quality education from dedicated teachers. There is something truly special about Marquette Catholic - we are more than just a school - we are a family."
"Why Marquette? When relocating to Bellevue, our family was presented with the difficult choice of deciding between two amazing education opportunities; Bellevue public and Marquette Catholic. It didn’t take long to recognize what felt like ‘home.’ As parents, we wanted our children to have a strong education that would take them beyond the walls of primary education. As practicing Catholics, we wanted our children to experience their education intertwined with spirituality. We wanted their education to reinforce what we were teaching within the home and vice-versa. While that was the original attraction, there are many other reasons we choose to stay.
Each family is accountable for providing support to make events run. As a small school, the responsibility to participate is on each and every family, rather than just a handful. While this was initially something I was skeptical of, I quickly learned its value the first year we had a high schooler.
My children don’t get lost in the crowd. The attention my kids receive due to small class sizes helps ensure that if my child is struggling, it’s noticed swiftly. Additionally, I believe that the low student to teacher ratio provides for unparalleled academic, social, and emotional development.
Preparation for life beyond high school. Within our home, we try to prepare our children for life on their own; challenging decisions, allowing kids to make their own choices (within reason), holding them accountable, establishing rules, etc. Marquette does the same with education. Many students enter college unprepared academically. Marquette puts a strong emphasis on preparing students for their next chapter.
I didn’t grow up in Bellevue and didn’t know many people when we moved to town. Through academic, athletic and social events, our family has come to find its home in Marquette."
